TO Tumble or not to tumble.  That is the question......

I know there is controversy surrounding the idea "to polish or not to polish".  But let me ask you this.  If you found a gold ring in your
back yard garden and it was dirty, would you wear it or display it in the original dirty condition you found it in?  I don't think so.
Why would you not do the same to restore the perfection of your glass treasures if you can?  Sometimes the opalescence adds a nice
dimension that you want to preserve, but mostly, it just clouds the glass. And some of that stuff hopelessly clouded the inside as well.
As a digger, I would hope the good one that I found would clean up well.  As a trader, I would go to shows and search for a better example to trade up for cleaner versions.   With this process, everything you find can be restored to it's real value.
I felt the same way about those dirty bottles... it added character to have the unnatural haze of dirt and age until I was introduced to the machine.   There is no question in my mind It has opened up a whole new excitement for my collection.  I am looking at all of my bottles again and restoring their beauty.   The cleaning process brings out all of the wonderful color, flaws, and character of the glass hiding under that ugly haze.
Would you reall want the bottles on the left?   Our brave new world makes it easy to do.   Read on below about the JarDoctor!

This  is the Greatest thing!

I  met the Lowry's at the Utah bottle show in September 5 years ago.  I had always  wondered about tumbling bottles but it just seemed like too much time and effort to get the equipment.  Now the JarDoctor has done all of that for  you.  What an amazing machine.  It has been running continuously since.  I can't believe the difference.   The machine comes with a nice PVC cannister with stopples to hold the bottle, copper tumbling medium, polishes, and instructions.  It took about 10 minutes to  place the bottle in and then you go away for 2-3 days (squares move slower and take longer) and you come back and  your bottle is shiny and new These  amazing Stopples hold the bottle inside the cannister making it easy for anyone to do.
IT CHANGES EVERYTHING!  I have expanded mine to do round and square at the same time with multiple cannisters.  It's a mess!
You can buy other versions or make your own.  But the JarDoctor stopples are a must.
